Jobs

This section is for links to sites (even ones you think everyone might know about already), job fair listings, and contact information from employers or employment agencies. This does not include trade school contacts, which are to be listed in the Education section. Weblinks should have a brief description about what the site provides. Job Fairs should follow a Who, What, Where, When format. Business contact information should follow the example in the Contacts post and resemble a business card. All entries should have a memo, noted by an asterisk (*) describing the opportunity/job/employer for reference purposes. This will make it easier for all of us to search.

e.g.
<http://www.nola.com/jobs/>
*Big website for job listings in the GNO area.

Education

This section is designed for you to share whatever information you find relevant to Adult Continuing Education programs in the Greater New Orleans area. For example, links to college fairs, important dates, or even news articles about upcoming programs at the colleges would be helpful. If you are including a contact such as an admissions counselor, please follow the format listed under 'Contacts'. Remember to include a succinct note at the end of your entry in order to help both your teammates and others who may find this site useful, to navigate and utilize the information you're providing.

e.g.
<http://www.nunez.edu/>
* These are Nunez's important upcoming dates.

Contacts

We'll be getting contact information from individuals who specialize, live, and work in different areas; but so do our students. Therefore, a card received in Jefferson Parish may be equally as valuable to someone from Hope House as a card from NOPLAY is for someone from St. Bernard Parish. This section is specifically for sharing business cards, however e-mail signatures are the virtual business card, so feel free to include those as well. Below is an example of how to format the information from the business card, and while all cards are slightly different, please fill in as much info as you have, if not more than is displayed below. Also note that the example is an actual contact, in case you have need of it.

e.g.,
Linda M. Gielec
Branch Manager, Martin Luther King Library
1611 Caffin Ave.
New Orleans, LA 70117
P: 504.596.2697
F: 504.942.0834
neworleanspubliclibrary.org
* She is interested in setting up a Saturday literacy program

Notes

This section is kind of a catch-all. Any notes or questions you have for team members, addendums, or deadline alerts should be posted here, along with all the things that just might not fit anywhere else.

Introduction

Hello Fellow CTT-ers!

This blogspot is designed for all of us to share our information with one another and therefore to give our students every advantage available to us. Following this post there will be four more entries: Jobs; Education; Contacts; Notes. Each entry allows space for you to comment, which is where you will then publish the links or contact information specific to its corresponding category. These posts will include individual format instructions to follow in order to keep us as organized and clear as possible; especially with us coming from 4 distinctly different areas and perspectives, clarity and consistency are key. If you have any questions about how to operate this site, please e-mail me at stbernardctt@gmail.com.
